FAQs
-
Swimmers must be able to swim across the pool (25 yards) without assistance. We group swimmers by age and ability, so beginners and experienced swimmers alike will feel challenged, supported, and encouraged.
-
All practices take place at the Vistancia Foothill Pool:
📍 31642 N. Westland Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383
Right across from Lake Pleasant Elementary.
Meets may take place at our home pool or at other pools in the valley.
-
In the spring and fall, most swimmers practice twice per week. During the summer season we have 5 days per week practice. Practice days and times vary by group and season.
-
Yes! Many Vipers swimmers participate in soccer, dance, baseball, and other activities. Our twice-a-week format is designed to be flexible and fit into busy schedules.
-
In the spring and fall we host 1–2 Intersquad meets per month. During the summer we have 1-2 meets each week during our summer league season.
Meets are not required, but they’re a great opportunity to gain confidence, track progress, and build team spirit.
-
Swimmers learn and refine all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Practices also focus on technique, endurance, starts, turns, and race confidence — always with a positive team environment.
-
We don’t offer makeups, but missing a practice here and there won’t affect your swimmer’s growth. Just come back ready to go next time!
-
For practices:

Because we operate on a limited-capacity model and plan staffing based on registrations, we do not offer refunds once a session begins — including for missed practices or scheduling conflicts.
We do our best to keep things flexible during registration, but once spots are filled and groups are set, your registration is considered final.
If you have unique circumstances, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to talk things through.
-
Registration opens a few weeks before each session. You’ll have two options:
Full Season Registration (Recommended): Opens first and secures your swimmer’s spot for the entire session.
Session to Session (Monthly) Registration: Opens later and is based on remaining availability.
Spots can fill quickly — especially in our younger groups — so we recommend signing up right when registration opens.
-
Item In some cases, yes — especially if they’re close in age or skill level. We place swimmers based on both age and ability, and we’re happy to work with families to find a good fit. Just send us a quick note if you have a special request.
-
Our groups are based on both age and skill level. Some swimmers “swim up” or “swim down” based on where they’ll grow best.
-
We totally get it! While we don’t offer drop-ins or trial classes, our short monthly registration option is a great way to test the waters before committing to a full season.
